2009-01-25 In a Monastery Garden
The patron saint of gardeners is St Fiacre of Donegal in Ireland, who left for France in 628, built a hospice and tended a beautiful garden for Irish pilgrims. He is one of the many inspirations for Judyth McLeod who is part of a worldwide movement to recreate monastic and medieval gardens with their mythical animals, fairies and labyrinths. She's is joined on the program by Brother Alois, the Prior of the Taize monastery in France, which specialises in music and in breaking down the barriers between Christian denominations. One of the music directors at Taize, Brother Jean-Marie, also talks about life in the monastic community.

Update: Caroline Kennedy -- adding 2 items:
Princess avoided the routine financial disclosure required by NYC employees. Even the people who worked under her filed the disclosure but she got a pass. And the excuse undermines her so-called qualifications -- she had no influence on policy and priorities at the city Department of Education.
A personal observation from me -- who waits until they are 51 to decide, getting appointed to the Senate is what I really have wanted to do all my life, and, I haven't prepared a resume that would get me elected to the New York City Council?
